The Sensory Lending Library at Adams Central Elementary has made a noticeable difference for students with sensory issues. Students are benefiting from an array of therapeutic items that help support and manage their sensory needs, and lead to improved classroom learning.

Thanks to a Mighty Money grant by AWS Foundation, the school purchased 80 unique items available to teachers organized in a library-type setting, which includes weighted lap pads, ball seats, and hand and feet fidgets. Tools such as scented pencils, dot daubers and slant boards are available to help complete tasks, and items like the trampoline and spin disc offer sensory input and output after a task is completed.

The Sensory Library has been an enormous source of support in the classroom: The feedback has been great. Almost every teacher has said they were able to find something that benefited the student.
